Provision News – We are Award Winners!

Farringdon Autism Spectrum Provision entered a competition to the National Autistic Awards in November 2012. Our Autism Spectrum Provision was nominated alongside two other candidates for ‘The Award for Inspirational Education Provision’. This shows the high quality provided every day to the local people diagnosed with Autism. On Monday 4th March 2013 Miss Parr and Mrs Holt went to Harrogate for a two day conference about Autism and for the awards ceremony on the Tuesday evening. Whilst there they had a choice of a variety of different workshops to choose from but the main even was the Awards Ceremony – and we won!

The winning of the award was covered by the ‘Sunderland Echo’. Our Head teacher Mr Kemp said “I am absolutely delighted for Mrs Holt and her dedicated team at the unit; It is a thoroughly deserved award. It is very popular with parents because it has become really successful. The children make so much progress.”

Mrs Holt added, “I am so proud of our staff and our students for this recognition of our innovative work.”
