We believe we have always encouraged our students to think for themselves and to appropriately and effectively express their opinions. We have moved increasingly towards particular structures, which further enhance this. We have had an elected School Council for many years which represents all five year groups. We are at the point of developing further with new and exciting developments underway which will transform student voice to be an even more active force for the transformation of the school.  The staff and students elect a Head Boy and Head Girl who serve as Associate Governors, attending termly meetings of the Governing Body.  A variety of formal and informal groups of students are regularly invited to attend ‘Tea with the Head’ to ensure all shades of opinion are communicated directly and opinion is known.

Peer mentoring programmes have been introduced and are benefiting many of our students. Through them, older students use their experiences, skills and growing maturity to support younger members of the school body.
