BBC News Report 2014 - Exhibition

A new exhibition which celebrates the mining heritage of the North East has opened in Hartlepool.

This exhibition, by living artists who all at one time worked in the coalfield, follows in the proud tradition of the 'Pitmen Painters' the group of Ashington miners who used art to record their experiences between the 1930s and 1980s.  The exhibition runs until April 3. It will be open between 10am and 6pm Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays from 10am until 2pm.
